The Arts & Crafts-inspired Essex rug features hand-knotted botanical detailing. Designed with a symmetrical vine and leaf motif, this rug provides traditional texture for entryways, hallways, and living spaces.

Design and Color Palette

The central field features a warm tan and ochre background overlaid with intersecting grey-blue vines, olive-green leaves, and rust-red stylized flowers. A narrow red border with a black geometric accent frames the center, leading to a wider outer border of olive-grey filled with repeating tan leaves and rustic floral clusters. Natural fringes finish both short ends.

Southwest Looms is a boutique rug maker based in Durham, North Carolina, focused on high-end handmade rugs known for distinctive design and rich color. It is the official licensee for Pendleton® Woolen Mills, weaving three Pendleton collections drawn from the mill's historic trade blanket patterns, alongside five collections in its own designs.

Each line is made by hand in its own way: hand-knotted Pendleton Reserve, hand-tufted Pendleton Classic, flatwoven Dreamcatcher, and Santa Fe rugs knotted from New Zealand wool in a dense Tibetan weave.
