Boulder is an Italian-woven wool blend that reads like a favorite camp sweater: rows of walking bears and pines in dark brown on a sand ground, spaced by bands of small chevrons in gray and rust. Cozy without being cartoonish, the bears stay small and the palette stays calm.

It is an upholstery fabric rated to 27,000 double rubs, ready for daily furniture use: bench cushions, ottomans, pillows, window seats. The cloth is 60 inches wide and railroaded, so long pieces cut without seams. It machine washes in cold water.

Sold by the yard, cut to order.

About the Line

Wooded River started in 1998 as a small clothing company in Idaho's Treasure Valley, named for the Boise River ("Boise" is French for wooded). The garment work grew into blankets and, before long, full bedding collections. The landscape has set the palette the whole time.

Every piece is still made to order. A single throw for a cabin or bedding for a national park lodge, sewn either way by hands that have worked those tables for 20 years or more.
