Product Details

Some dogs are born knowing the best seat in the boat. This golden retriever has it: the cockpit of a mahogany runabout, Call Me Lucky lettered across the transom, and a flag streaming beside her. The grin says everything.

The runabout and the pastel evening sky belong to the same lake-country world as the Mason Bears, so it hangs easily among them. Deck and water are handled in quick strokes, and the dog is painted with real precision.

About the Line

Marilynn Dwyer Mason was born and raised in southwest Montana and has drawn since childhood. She paints in pastel, watercolor, acrylic, oil, and pen and ink. Influenced by Philip Goodwin, John Singer Sargent, and Oliver Kemp, her work captures the nostalgia of early-twentieth-century outdoor life and the American West, including her Mason Bear series.

From her studio in Butte, Montana, her paintings are offered as giclée prints on canvas, hand stretched and set in birch bark and wild-harvested willow frames. Each frame is one of a kind.
