The Compass Flush Mount came to its designer while he was building a boat and thinking about navigation. It's based on the simple needle compass, a cork floating in water with a magnetized needle through it. Hubbardton Forge makes it by hand in Vermont.

It has an Opal glass shade on a steel frame. The steel comes in 11 finishes: Dark Smoke, Black, Bronze, Ink, Modern Brass, Natural Iron, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Soft Gold, Sterling, Vintage Platinum and White. It's pictured in Dark Smoke.
