Product Details

Hibernation, lodge edition. Two grizzlies have taken over the hearth of a log cabin, one sitting up with its back to the fire and the other flat out on the rug, gone for the night. Snowshoes, skis, a creel, and a paddle gather around the stone hearth.

Dwyer Mason draws on the camp interiors of the Goodwin and Kemp tradition, all dark timber and firelight. There is even a small bear painting on the wall, a wink inside the wink.

About the Line

Marilynn Dwyer Mason was born and raised in southwest Montana and has drawn since childhood. She paints in pastel, watercolor, acrylic, oil, and pen and ink. Influenced by Philip Goodwin, John Singer Sargent, and Oliver Kemp, her work captures the nostalgia of early-twentieth-century outdoor life and the American West, including her Mason Bear series.

From her studio in Butte, Montana, her paintings are offered as giclée prints on canvas, hand stretched and set in birch bark and wild-harvested willow frames. Each frame is one of a kind.
