A Navajo rug carries the maker's whole sense of pattern in a single piece of work, since the loom is set up for one finished weaving at a time. This one shows a central serrated diamond and two flanking medallions built from crosses and concentric circles, the palette held to rust, cream, and earth-red on a deep brown ground. Printed on genuine chamois leather, the lumbar pillow is bordered in cognac faux suede with a hickory brown leather frame in real or faux, welt and back in cognac suede. A handcrafted leather pillow for a long sofa or a bedroom bench.
