The colors in a Navajo rug come from what grew on the land: walnut hull for brown, indigo for blue, cochineal for the deep reds that hold through generations. This piece works a tan ground crossed by horizontal bands and a central row of small red diamonds. Printed on genuine chamois leather, the lumbar pillow is bordered in cognac faux suede with a hickory brown leather frame in real or faux, welt and back in cognac suede. A handcrafted leather pillow for a long sofa or a guest bedroom in a southwestern house.
