Product Details

Most of the Mason Bears live in the early twentieth century. This one has discovered the paddleboard. She stands tall, paddle dipped mid-stroke, while a cub sits at her feet watching the water.

The sunset is where the painter lets go: bands of orange, gold, and lavender laid in with a loose brush, mountains fading to blue, the whole lake catching color. A bright piece for a lake house guest room.

About the Line

Marilynn Dwyer Mason was born and raised in southwest Montana and has drawn since childhood. She paints in pastel, watercolor, acrylic, oil, and pen and ink. Influenced by Philip Goodwin, John Singer Sargent, and Oliver Kemp, her work captures the nostalgia of early-twentieth-century outdoor life and the American West, including her Mason Bear series.

From her studio in Butte, Montana, her paintings are offered as giclée prints on canvas, hand stretched and set in birch bark and wild-harvested willow frames. Each frame is one of a kind.
