Pendleton Reserve Chief Blanket Rug – Sunset
The Pendleton Reserve Chief Blanket Rug in Sunset is a hand-knotted wool rug built on the bold layout of a classic chief blanket. Vertical stripes of salmon, gold, and beige run the length of the rug, lined with narrow stripes of navy and sage green, and five large stepped crosses sit on top: one in each corner and one at the center.
Design and Craftsmanship
The four corner crosses are outlined in red, navy, and sage green around a red center lined with rows of small gold, salmon, and cream diamonds. The center cross turns the scheme around, with navy and salmon outlines around a sage green heart set with small navy and cream diamonds. Pendleton Reserve rugs are hand-knotted at about 80 knots per square inch from hand-spun New Zealand wool and colored with Swiss Chrome dyes. Hand-spun yarn varies in thickness, so it takes the dye unevenly and gives the stripes a subtle, blended color.
Sizes and Placement
This rug comes in a range of sizes. Its warm sunset palette pairs well with log walls, leather seating, and wood floors in a cabin, lodge, or ranch house.
