Design and Usage

The Oxford palette balances dark, moody backgrounds with warm earth tones—including rust, burnt orange, cream, and white—to create a rustic yet modern look. The intricate geometric layout, dominated by pyramid-like crosses and linear arrow details, adds visual interest without feeling cluttered. With its hand-knotted build and timeless pattern, the Harding Oxford rug serves as a focal point for entryways, hallways, or mudrooms, bringing heritage character to functional areas.

About the Line

Southwest Looms is a boutique rug maker based in Durham, North Carolina, focused on high-end handmade rugs known for distinctive design and rich color. It is the official licensee for Pendleton® Woolen Mills, weaving three Pendleton collections drawn from the mill's historic trade blanket patterns, alongside five collections in its own designs.

Each line is made by hand in its own way: hand-knotted Pendleton Reserve, hand-tufted Pendleton Classic, flatwoven Dreamcatcher, and Santa Fe rugs knotted from New Zealand wool in a dense Tibetan weave. Every one carries the look of a trade blanket or a Southwest weaving, made to anchor a cabin, lodge, or cottage room.
