The Pendleton Reserve Mount Zion Rug is a handmade wool rug with a bold geometric pattern on a soft grey ground. Stacked triangles shaded from brick red to terra-cotta build into large peaked shapes, crossed by bands of black and white figures.

Design and Craftsmanship

Rows of large paired figures run down the rug, each made of red and terra-cotta triangles that meet at a band of black and white geometric shapes. Smaller triangles in the same warm shades fill the spaces around them, and narrow bands of black and white arrow-like shapes run across the rug between the rows. Pendleton Reserve rugs are handmade at about 80 knots per square inch from hand-spun New Zealand wool and colored with Swiss Chrome dyes, which gives the grey ground a soft, variegated look.

This rug comes in a range of sizes. The grey ground and warm red tones work well with weathered barnwood, stone, and iron in a mountain cabin or lodge.
