Product Details

The Pendleton Reserve Rock Art Rug brings ancient Southwest imagery into your home through durable, hand-knotted construction. This rug combines traditional weaving techniques with petroglyph-inspired motifs, creating a rustic focal point for entryways, hallways, mudrooms, and living spaces.

The design features a sophisticated earth-tone palette of taupe, beige, and brown. The central beige field displays a symmetrical composition of stylized animal figures—reminiscent of bighorn sheep—framed by large, stepped zigzag triangles in dark brown and rust that create an hourglass effect. Flanking the center are vertical side borders rich with rock art symbols, including handprints, raptors with spread wings, and sun motifs with radiating lines, all set against a muted grey background. The entire piece is finished with a classic cream and grey chevron border.

About the Line

Southwest Looms is a boutique rug maker based in Durham, North Carolina, focused on high-end handmade rugs known for distinctive design and rich color. It is the official licensee for Pendleton® Woolen Mills, weaving three Pendleton collections drawn from the mill's historic trade blanket patterns, alongside five collections in its own designs.

Each line is made by hand in its own way: hand-knotted Pendleton Reserve, hand-tufted Pendleton Classic, flatwoven Dreamcatcher, and Santa Fe rugs knotted from New Zealand wool in a dense Tibetan weave. Every one carries the look of a trade blanket or a Southwest weaving, made to anchor a cabin, lodge, or cottage room.
